Adam Tomlinson returns to the GIANTS’ line-up as the only change ahead of Saturday night’s semi-final against the Brisbane Lions.

The big-bodied midfielder was omitted for last Saturday’s elimination final victory over the Bulldogs but will take to the Gabba this weekend as the GIANTS look to continue their finals campaign.

Tomlinson earned high praise during the week for the way he carried himself in response to missing the home elimination final.

The 26-year-old consoled veteran Brett Deledio – the player who had squeezed him out of the side - after the final siren before chairing the injured GIANT off the field.

GIANTS Head Coach Leon Cameron said Tomlinson showed great professionalism after missing selection last week and has earned his place back in the side.

“It was a tough decision last week, but Adam’s attitude has continued to be first class,” Cameron said.

“He’s worked really hard and he’s ready to take his opportunity.

“We know what he brings to our side, the boys love playing with him and he’s looking forward to getting out on to the Gabba on Saturday night.”

The GIANTS were outstanding in beating the Bulldogs but face a Brisbane side looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Richmond in the qualifying final.

Cameron is expecting the Lions to be at their very best, despite losing veteran midfielder Mitch Robinson.

“Brisbane finished top two for a reason and we’re under no illusions this is going to be a really tough test,” Cameron said.

“Finals go up a notch every week and we’re fully expecting the Lions to bounce back and throw everything at us this week.

“It’s going to be a cracking contest and it’s one we’re really looking forward to.”
