Dear GIANTS members and fans,

As you are no doubt aware, the coronavirus (COVID-19) is affecting many aspects of normal day to day life and this includes the AFL community.

Sport has always been a great escape for people during challenging times, however it’s our responsibility to ensure we’re doing everything possible to safeguard the health and wellbeing of everyone associated with our club.

We are planning and operating on the best advice available from government, health agencies and the AFL.  Within some necessary precautions we are doing our best to maintain our operations, continue through the AFLW season and prepare for the upcoming AFL season which kicks off with a historic double header at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday, March 21.

At the moment, we have not received any advice that these games will not go ahead and so we are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on March 21.

With the health and safety of our players, staff and wider GIANTS people our number one priority, a number of precautions have been taken.

For the time being, our GIANTS training and administration base at Sydney Olympic Park will only be accessible to the playing groups and essential staff.

All training sessions, the facility’s cafe and team store will be closed to the general public until further notice.

The club is working closely with the AFL, all forms of Government and the relevant health authorities to ensure we’re doing everything we can to keep our people safe.

Members can continue to reach our membership team via 1300 GIANTS (1300 442 687) or membership@gwsgiants.com.au

Our club website will continue to provide entertaining and engaging content covering our AFL and AFLW teams during this time as well as the latest information in regards to COVID-19.

I want to thank our members and fans for their ongoing support and understanding of this situation.

I look forward to seeing you at the footy soon.

David Matthews
