Dylan Shiel had a special delivery when he returned to his junior club Edithvale/Aspendale last Sunday.

The GIANTS midfielder gave the young players $1500 worth of Sherrins thanks to his three supergoals in the NAB Challenge match against St Kilda at Wagga Wagga.

Thanks to NAB, every time a player kicks a nine-point goal from outside 50m during the NAB Challenge series, their junior club will also receive $500 worth of Sherrins.

With the GIANTS in Melbourne for the Round 2 clash against St Kilda on Saturday afternoon, Shiel took the opportunity to personally deliver 18 footballs to his home club.

“I was at Edithvale/Aspendale from Under-9s all the way through to Under-16s and we won the premiership every year," he said. “I live five minutes from main ground and all my mates played there.

“At low level footy clubs it’s hard to produce money. $1500 can do so much for a footy club, just helping to spread footies around the teams. Every year you just get one bag of footies so it’s terrific what NAB are doing.”

Shiel presented the footballs as the whole junior club gathered for practice matches ahead of the 2014 season. He met family friend and club president Anthony Turner and the local Bentleigh NAB store manager who presented the footballs.

“Having an event like that raises awareness for future kids or families wanting to send kids to a footy club. It helps the life of the footy club and ‘Edi/Aspy’ will be benefitting for a long time,” Shiel said.
