We've delved into the GIANTS' archives to find the best photos from the club's 12 trips to the historic ground that is the MCG.

While the GIANTS have only won one of those games, there have been many highlights throughout the years.

A GIANT First

This image captures the moment the GIANTS played on the hallowed turf of the MCG for the first time as an AFL side in round 13, 2012 against Melbourne. Six of the 22 GIANTS that lined up in the orange and charcoal that day had played at the MCG at the highest level before. Jeremy Cameron kicked three goals as the GIANTS lost by 78 points.

The Biggest Loss

Sunday, July 8, 2012, round 15. A day that will live in infamy at the GIANTS. The young side headed to the MCG for just the second time in their short history and was pummeled by the high flying Hawks. The 162 point loss remains the biggest losing margin in the club's history but has since become a form of motivation for the players who remain at the club, but were there that day.

Jeremy From Dartmoor Becomes an All Australian

Forward Jeremy Cameron had been superb throughout the 2013 season, taking big marks and kicking bags of goals throughout his second year in the AFL, however, it was round 18, 2013 that saw the skinny kid from Dartmoor go from skinny prospect to one of the competition's elite. Cameron kicked seven of the GIANTS' 10 goals in the 40 point loss to Collingwood, setting a club record and all but secured his place in the 2013 All Australian team at just 20-years-old.

Leon and Toby Celebrate a Fantastic First

This photo captures a special moment between coach and player. Leon Cameron (in his first season as GIANTS Head Coach) embraces Toby Greene after the GIANTS' first-ever, and still only, win at the MCG. The GIANTS destroyed Melbourne in round 21, 2014 by 64 points, holding Melbourne to just three goals for the game.

Battered and Bruised

The GIANTS headed to the MCG to take on Collingwood in round 11, 2015 full of confidence. They were sitting inside the top eight, having lost just three games to that point. The 42 point loss to the Magpies would start a three-game losing streak while the injuries to ruck Shane Mumford, midfielder Stephen Coniglio, defender Joel Patfull and co-captain Phil Davis derailed the back half of their season. The GIANTS would win just four more games for the year, finishing two wins outside the top eight.

Lobb Flies

He may not have been able to reel in this absolute screamer but this photo represents the rise of Rory Lobb in 2016. The ruck/forward established himself as a dependable member of the GIANTS in 2016 as they charged towards their first finals series taking big marks and kicking important goals. While the GIANTS lost the round one clash to Melbourne, during which this photo was taken, they would bounce back to win their next three games.

Back to the Future

This photo captures the GIANTS' past, present, and future as Will Setterfield receives his first jumper from inaugural GIANT and former assistant coach James McDonald ahead of the round 18 clash with Richmond at the MCG. The GIANTS would go on to lose the game against the eventual premiers by 19 points in a rain-soaked affair.

A Champion's Last Goodbye

The GIANTS' 2017 season ended in front of 94,258 at the MCG with a Preliminary Final loss to Richmond by 36 points. The match also brought an end to the career of entertaining forward Steve Johnson after 293 games and 516 goals for the GIANTS and Geelong.
