A goal at the death to Yartapuulti young gun Lauren Young has sealed a remarkable four-point win over the GIANTS at Corroboree Group Oval, Manuka on Sunday afternoon.

The GIANTS had kicked four of the last five goals of the game to snatch the lead, but Young turned matchwinner after marking 15m out from goal and calmly converting to seal the 7.10 (52) to 8.0 (48) victory.

Star ruck Matilda Scholz set up the decisive moment with a crucial intercept mark before launching the attack that ultimately ended with Young's matchwinner with seconds left on the clock.

In a match that had 10 lead changes - and four in a frenetic final term including Young's go-ahead goal - the Power held their nerve when it mattered most to snatch victory.

However, the thrilling win was overshadowed by a suspected serious knee injury to star Power forward Indy Tahau.

Yartapuulti led by nine points at three-quarter time before Brodee Mowbray goaled twice to put the GIANTS in front in the final term.

Scholz was outstanding for the Power with 30 hitouts, five clearances, 24 disposals and six score involvements, while Piper Window kicked three goals and Young finished with two.

GIANTS star Alyce Parker continued her impressive start to the season with 21 disposals and five clearances after an injury-hit 2025 campaign.

Alicia Eva, Jess Doyle, Georgia Garnett and Mowbray each kicked two goals in the loss as the GIANTS kicked a remarkably accurate 8.0 for the match.

Next the GIANTS travel north to face Brisbane at Brighton Homes Arena on Saturday night.
