The GIANTS farewell Kieren Briggs, with the ruckman set to depart the club as an unrestricted free agent.

A GIANTS Academy graduate, Briggs was drafted to the GIANTS with pick 34 in the 2018 Draft.

After making his debut in 2021, the now 26-year-old went on to represent the orange and charcoal on 88 occasions, establishing himself as a dependable contributor in the club's ruck stocks.

Briggs played 16 games in 2026, featuring throughout the season as the GIANTS managed their ruck options.

He departs the club having spent eight seasons in the orange and charcoal, with the GIANTS opting not to offer the ruckman a new contract beyond 2026.

GIANTS Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, thanked Briggs for his services to the club.

“Kieren has been a valued member of our playing group over a long period of time both on and off the field,” McCartney said.

“It’s always a tough time of the year when we need to say farewell to good people, but unfortunately we were not in a position to retain Kieren moving forward.

“We wish Kieren and his family all the best for the next chapter and thank him for his service to the GIANTS.”
