The GIANTS have named four debutants to line-up against the Eagles in their double-header to kick off their NAB AFLW 2026 season on Sunday.
Yasmeen Janschek and Kiera Yerbury will play their first game at AFLW level, while recruits Poppy Boltz and Tilly Lucas-Rodd run out for their first games in orange and charcoal, following the completion of the men’s AFL round 23 match.
The four inclusions are a nod to the fast, free-flowing football that has become the GIANTS’ style under Cam Bernasconi, while also signifying the focus across the preseason on their stoppage, with both Janschek and Yerbury touted for their run out of contest.
Adding Lucas-Rodd's leadership and Boltz’ bodywork in defence, the GIANTS will look to curb the Eagles’ aerial game and keep the ball moving through hands.
The historic occasion will be added to with Izzy Huntington named for her 50th game of AFLW.
