Sam Taylor will be sidelined with a hamstring injury but Brett Deledio and Adam Kennedy are expected to return to the field this weekend.

Taylor came off in the second quarter of Saturday night’s narrow win over Port Adelaide with a hamstring complaint with scans revealing a strain.

“He had some scans and has a hamstring injury, it’s sort of that mid-term,” GIANTS General Manager of Football Wayne Campbell said.

“It’s not the best one but it’s not the worst one. We’re probably looking at four weeks, which would take him to the edge of the finals.

“He might get back for one week but we’ll probably be conservative with him so he’ll probably miss the rest of the regular season and then hopefully we’re in finals and he can ramp up and play some footy then.”

Veteran Deledio missed the Power clash after playing the previous nine games in a row but is expected to line up against the Swans at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday.

"You take a chance when you manage a player and you always hope you win so it doesn’t come back to bite you but luckily by a point we got through," Campbell said.

“He’ll play this weekend.”

Kennedy is also expected to play after a heart scare two weeks ago.

“He had a serious of tests so was a chance to play but he had a procedure that just required the wound to rest a little bit,” Campbell said.

“He’s done some cross-training and will train tomorrow and Thursday and will play on the weekend which is great news for Adam and the club.”

Josh Kelly, Matt de Boer, Aidan Corr, Isaac Cumming and Xavier O’Halloran are all expected to return to the field in the coming weeks.

“We hope they all come back in a rush,” Campbell said.

“Those guys probably miss this weekend and we’ve got a NEAFL bye the following weekend so whether any of them play senior footy or not - Josh is one who would obviously be a chance and Matt de Boer as well to come straight back in.

"The injury list should shorten in seven days’ time."

Meanwhile, young ruck Matt Flynn has returned to the club after a successful ACL repair last week.

“He went home to Narrandera for a week and is back at the club this week,” Campbell said.

“As with most surgeries, all was a success so he’s getting into his rehab and getting into his cross-training.

“He’s a good, young fella so we’ll get him right for middle of next year.”

The GIANTS take on the Swans at GIANTS Stadium at 2:10pm on Saturday.
