GIANTS AFLW superstar Alyce Parker is bringing an exciting opportunity to the Riverina, with the four-time GIANTS club champion holding a special girls-only football clinic in Wagga Wagga this April.

Aimed at girls aged 8–16, the clinic will provide a fun and engaging day of skill development, featuring drills and activities designed to build AFL fundamentals. Participants will also benefit from access to GIANTS coaching staff and AFLW players, while learning more about local football pathways and how to continue their journey in the game.

Beyond the on-field experience, the day is set to create a welcoming environment where participants can connect, build confidence and form friendships with other young players who share their passion for footy.

Parker said the clinic will offer a unique experience for girls in the region.

“Girls that attend can expect a fun day of drills and activities building their AFL skills with access to GIANTS and AFL coaching as well as some Giants AFLW players. Also education on where and how they can continue playing their football locally and of course meeting new friends throughout the day.”

She encouraged girls to take advantage of the opportunity to be part of a dedicated female football environment.

“I’d encourage those to register to experience an exciting day purely for girls footy which is something many current AFLW players like myself wish existed in the past. A chance to meet and play alongside fellow female footy players in a safe and encouraging environment.”

The initiative is particularly meaningful for Parker, who has long been passionate about giving back to her home region and growing the female game in the Riverina.

“This clinic is something I’ve been working towards for a number of years wanting to bring something back to my home region. I feel extremely passionate on growing the female AFL space in the Riverina for two reasons: it provided me with the opportunity and pathway to get drafted myself so I’d love to provide the same opportunity for future stars. I also believe we have so much more potential to nurture our talent in the region so I strongly believe I can play a big role in achieving more AFLW players being drafted out of the Riverina.”

With strong local ties and a clear vision for the future, Parker hopes the clinic will inspire the next generation of AFLW talent to emerge from the region.
