GIANTS trio Tarni Evans, Zarlie Goldsworthy, and Cambridge McCormick have been recognised for their stellar seasons and unveiled as the GIANTS’ three nominees for the 2025 AFL Players’ Association AFLW Most Valuable Player Award.

Voting for the esteemed award is a two-stage process, with players nominating their teammates on a 3-2-1 basis in the first stage before selecting from a competition-wide field in stage two.

Players cannot vote for a player from their own club during stage two of the voting process.

Goldsworthy's nomination comes off the back of another stellar season from one of the competition’s best young stars, while Evans and McCormick have also been recognised by their teammates for career-best efforts.

Recently crowned the GIANTS club champion to become a two-time Gabrielle Trainor Medallist at the age of just 20, Goldsworthy shone once again in 2025, with the 2023 AFLW Rising Star winner continuing her ascent to becoming one of the league’s most exciting and impactful players.

Previously one of the league’s best young defenders before transitioning forward in the back end of last season, Evans made a permanent move to the forward line in 2025 where her talents were on full display, starring as the club’s leading goalkicker and its focal point in attack.

Kicking multiple goals in four games and at least one in seven games, Evans’ athleticism, skill, and pure talent often single handedly kept the GIANTS in games with her brilliance ahead of the footy.

Finally given a clean run with injury this, McCormick displayed an amazing ability to play as both a dashing half-back as well as a lockdown defender on some of the league’s most dangerous tall forwards across the year.
