Former Crow Taylah Levy will make her club debut for the GIANTS when the team travels to Melbourne to face the Magpies in round two.
The college basketball star-cum-footballer played 16 matches with Adelaide across two seasons before making the switch to Western Sydney in the 2024 trade period.
After receiving a scholarship to play basketball with Cleavland State University, Levy spent four years stateside, making her highly attuned to elite performance environments.
She returned to Adelaide and Australian Rules football in 2023, where she was signed by the Crows as a rookie, debuting in round eight of that season and going on to play the next thirteen matches for the Crows.
Levy brings crucial experience to the young GIANTS side, with the ability to play both in the midfield and up front and will be an important asset in both areas, with Alyce Parker unavailable through injury.
Her work rate around contest and on the ball are both areas of focus for the GIANTS ahead of their clash with the Magpies.
Levy’s elevation to the team brings the GIANTS’ season debutant total to seven, following the six fresh names that played their first matches for the side in round one.
Having played finals footy with the Crows in 2024, the GIANTS will be looking to Levy to add a winning mindset as they hope to bounce back from a disappointing round one loss to the Bombers.
The GIANTS number 10 is the only change to the team who will take on the Magpies at Victoria Park at 1:05pm on Saturday, August 23.
