Four players could make their return this weekend with Brent Daniels, Jack Buckley, Ollie Hannaford and Phoenix Gothard all to face fitness tests later this week.
After narrowly missing out last round, Buckley is on track to return to the GIANTS’ formidable backline for Sunday’s clash against the Saints at ENGIE Stadium.
Daniels, who last played in the round 14 win over the Lions at the Gabba, would be a welcome inclusion in Adam Kingsley’s side as the club enters the pointy end of the season.
The small forward has been managing an adductor injury and is aiming to complete a second full week of training ahead of a possible return this weekend.
Meanwhile, Hannaford is a chance to play his first game since May. The young draftee has endured a challenging debut season due to wrist and ankle injuries, but is now fully fit and eyeing a return via the VFL in the club’s do-or-die Wildcard Round this weekend.
The GIANTS’ AFL side will take on the Saints at ENGIE Stadium on Sunday, while the VFL team will travel to Melbourne to face Richmond at ETU Stadium.
