The GIANTS’ AFLW side’s upcoming fixture for season nine was recently released so we thought we’dshare the must-see clashes in a season which will feature 11 home and away games for each side for the first time in the competition’s history.

SNARLING SEASON-OPENER

With the AFL pre-finals bye taking place, the eyes of the footy world will turn to the AFLW as it takes centre stage for the opening round in late August.

The highly anticipated opening round will see the GIANTS kick start their season with an exciting round one clash with the Western Bulldogs at Manuka Oval in the nation’s capital on Saturday, August 31 at 1:05pm.

SUNDAY TWILGIHT IN THE SUN

The Orange Tsunami will surge back to Canberra in round three where the GIANTS will host 2024 finalists, the Gold Coast Suns, in a twilight clash on Sunday, September 15 at 5:05pm.

SPICY SYDNEY DERBY

It won’t get any bigger for women’s footy in NSW than in round four when the third AFLW Sydney Derby takes places as we look to ruffle the Swans’ feathers with a victory over our cross-town rivals at Henson Park on Sunday, September 22 at 3:05pm.

With the GIANTS and the Swans each with one win apiece in their short but spicy history, the Derby is sure to be a must-see stoush as the clubs battle for Harbour City bragging rights in what will be the first time the Battle of the Bridge is played at Henson Park.

MID-WEEK MANIA

The AFLW has introduced mid-week footy to the fixture this season where each club will play one game each on either a Tuesday or Wednesday between rounds four to seven.

The new concept will see the GIANTS play the first of their two games in round seven with a big match-up with the Saints under lights at Kinetic Stadium in Frankston on Tuesday, October 8 at 7:15pm.

PRIDE ROUND

Following their Tuesday night clash with the Saints in Victoria, the GIANTS will return home to host powerhouse the Adelaide Crows for a special Pride Round clash at Henson Park on Sunday, October 13 at 5:05pm.

INDEGENOUS DAY OUT WITH THE DOCKERS

Celebrating Indigenous Round, the GIANTS final home game of the home and away season comes in round nine when we welcome the Dockers to town for an afternoon clash at Henson Park on Saturday, October 26 at 2:05pm.
