The GIANTS will kick-start their 2024 AFLW season with an exciting clash with the Western Bulldogs in the nation’s capital.

For the first time ever, clubs will play an 11-game home and away season with each club given an additional game on either a Tuesday or Wednesday as ‘Mid-Week Footy’ is introduced to the competition during a four-week block across rounds four to seven.

The AFLW season will once again begin as a standalone weekend of footy played during the AFL’s bye week ahead of the AFL finals series.

The GIANTS’ season-opener will see the Orange Tsunami storm into Canberra to host the Bulldogs at Manuka Oval on Saturday, August 31.

The GIANTS will hit the road in round two looking to tame the Tigers in a Sunday afternoon clash on September 8 at the Swinburne Centre.

Round three will see the GIANTS return to Manuka Oval for a Sunday twilight encounter with 2023 finalists, the Gold Coast Suns.

The third-ever AFLW Sydney Derby will take place in round four as the GIANTS face off with the Swans in what is sure to be a fiery and exciting contest at Henson Park on Sunday, September 22. It will be the first time the cross-town clash has been played at the Marrickville venue.

The GIANTS will return to Henson Park in round five to host the West Coast Eagles on Sunday, September 29 before a trip south in round six for a Thursday night spectacle under lights at IKON Park against the last year’s semi-finalist, the Melbourne Demons.

The GIANTS will remain in Melbourne to begin round seven with the introduction of ‘Mid-Week Footy’ in a match-up with the Saints under lights at Kinetic Stadium in Frankston on Tuesday, October 8.

As part of the new 11-game season the GIANTS will play two matches in round seven, following up Tuesday’s clash with the Saints in Victoria with a return home to host the Crows at Henson Park for a Pride Round clash a few days later on Sunday, October 13.

Round eight will see the GIANTS return to Melbourne for an afternoon clash with the Hawks at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday, October 19 before we celebrate Indigenous Rounds across both rounds nine and 10 to close out the home and away season.

In round nine the GIANTS will welcome the Dockers to town as we host Fremantle at Henson Park on Saturday, October 26.

Round 10 will be a floating fixture with dates and times to be confirmed as the GIANTS head to Adelaide looking to cut the Power out in an exciting match-up with Port Adelaide at Alberton Oval on the weekend of Thursday, October 31-Sunday, November 3.

The top eight will then face off in a finals series the following week from November 7-10, with the NAB AFLW Grand Final to be held on Saturday, November 30.

The GIANTS and their host of talented fresh faces begin pre-season on Monday in preparation for a GIANT 2024 NAB AFLW season.
