LAST WEEK

Things are looking good for the GIANTS. Sitting 6-2 and fourth place on the ladder after the win against the Crows, the Fantasy numbers keep pouring in for GWS.

Devon Smith is a gun! The forward racked up 133 points to be the fifth highest scorer of the round and leave some egg on my face. In the tense moments before lockout on Friday night, I had Smith in my side but opted for a cheaper player to save some cash for next week. There was over 50 points difference between Dev and who I selected… and that was enough for a league loss. I have learned my lesson!

Midfielders Dylan Shiel and Callan Ward just keep finding the ball, collecting 52 disposals between them.

Ball-magnet Josh Kelly made an excellent return to the senior side, posting 86 Fantasy points before being subbed in the last quarter.

TOP 5 SCORERS V ADELAIDE

  • 133 – Devon Smith (FWD, $530,000)
  • 121 – Dylan Shiel (MID, $548,000)
  • 107 – Shane Mumford (RUC, $502,000)
  • 106 – Callan Ward (MID, $565,000)
  • 99 – Tom Scully (MID, $486,000)

ON THE RADAR

Remember when I said to trade out Sunshine? Forget it! Cam McCarthy just keeps getting the job done. With a breakeven of 39. He will continue to make some coin if he puts up scores of 80 like he did on Saturday. He would be a good player to hold until the GIANTS have their round 13 bye.

Speaking of byes, GWS players are good options to bring in as round 11 and 12 might be hard for coaches to field a team due to being stacked with many Fantasy guns. Consider Shiel, Ward or Adam Treloar as an alternative premium midfielder.

WHAT’S COMING UP

The GIANTS travel to Etihad Stadium this week to take on the Bulldogs.

In round four last season, no GWS player was able to crack the Fantasy ton in the 27 point loss. Curtly Hampton top scored with 99 while Adam Treloar had 23 disposals and nine tackles for 98.
