The GIANTS have added four to their squad set to take on the Gold Coast Suns at Manuka Oval, including returning pair Nick Haynes and Finn Callaghan.
Haynes and Callaghan join last week’s sub, Josh Fahey, and ruck Matt Flynn in being added to the GIANTS squad gunning for their sixth win in a row on Sunday afternoon.
Versatile defender Haynes missed last week’s come-from-behind win over the Crows while serving a one-match suspension for rough conduct.
Young midfielder Callaghan was a late withdrawal on game day with a minor hip issue, with the rising star nominee set to complete main training on Friday to confirm his place in the side.
Also in contention for the final 22 is half-back Fahey, who collected seven touches and kicked an important goal after coming on as the sub at Adelaide Oval. He then travelled to Melbourne to play in the VFL’s one-point win over Frankston, where he picked up 22 disposals and four marks.
Flynn, who also played in the narrow win over the Dolphins, had 12 disposals, 21 hit-outs, three clearances and a goal as he pushes for a return to the senior side.
The final 22 to take on the Suns will be named at 5pm on Friday. The GIANTS take on the Gold Coast at Manuka Oval on Sunday at 1:10pm.
