The GIANTS are pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Tucker to the club’s Board.

Mr Tucker has been appointed as a Director of the club and will Chair the GIANTS Foundation Board.

Mr Tucker is an experienced Director and Chairman of large, successful Australian and International companies in a wide range of sectors, having worked as CEO and Managing Director of MLC as well as a Group Executive at MLC and NAB Wealth.

He is the current co-founder and Chairman of Koda Capital, an independent private wealth partnership, as well as a non-executive Chairman at Urbis, Australia’s leading urban planning, design and property advisory firm.

Mr Tucker is also a non-executive Director at FNZ, a global technology provider to the financial services industry, as well as a Director of The Ethics Centre and NeuRA Foundation.                                                                        

GIANTS Chairman Tony Shepherd AO welcomed Mr Tucker to the GIANTS Board of Directors.

“Steve is a leading business executive and Director with an outstanding and diverse CV and experience set,” Mr Shepherd said.

“He is a knowledgeable and passionate supporter of our game and is well known to the club, having been a long-standing coterie and Committee member and we’re delighted to welcome him to the GIANTS Board.

“He has great experience working in philanthropic organisations and his passion for community means he is the ideal person to lead the GIANTS Foundation and support our club to make an even greater contribution to our communities.

”Steve has extensive business experience as a Director and will contribute greatly to the governance, strategic and commercial direction of our organisation.”

Long-serving Canberra-based Director, Michael Costello AO, has retired from the GIANTS Board having reached the maximum tenure as a Director under the club’s Constitution.

Mr Shepherd thanked Mr Costello for his significant contribution and congratulated him on receiving honorary Life Membership in recognition of his service to the GIANTS over the past decade.

“The GIANTS have been very fortunate to have individuals like Michael work tirelessly to grow the club and the game more broadly through our formative years,” Mr Shepherd said.

“Michael has made an invaluable contribution to the GIANTS, particularly in establishing ourselves as the ACT’s AFL team and building out the myriad of relationships in the Nation’s capital.

“We congratulate Michael on being named as a life member and thank him for his leadership and advocacy, he’ll always be part of the GIANTS family.”
