This Saturday, catch a glimpse of the future stars of the AFL when the best 30 young players from around the country come together when the AIS AFL Academy squad take on the Sydney Swans Reserves at Blacktown Olympic Park, following the Team GWS match.

The AIS AFL Academy is now in it’s thirteenth year and brings together the most promising young footballers from across Australia.

Under the AFL draft and list concession, Team GWS will be able to priority list 12 players from this squad along with a further eight which could potentially join Team GWS via the draft.

The squad will be in Sydney from Thursday April 1 for a four day training camp before leaving for South Africa on Sunday April 4.

They will then spend two weeks in South Africa for a development camp where they will play a match against South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town. On April 15 they will return to Australia before playing West Perth in a curtain raiser to the West Coast Eagles vs Essendon match on the Friday at Subiaco.

Joining the players and their parents on the South African trip will be our very own Tom Harley, Kevin Sheedy, Graeme Allen and Andrew Hill, along with AFL greats Michael O’Loughlin, Matthew Lloyd and Jason McCartney who will coach the side.

Be there on Saturday to see some of the future faces of Team GWS and show them our support!
