Josh Fahey joined the GIANTS after the club matched a bid on the Canberra product with pick 42 in the 2021 AFL Draft. Fahey is a hard-running wingman/halfback that uses his speed, evasiveness, and his silky left foot to break the game open. Before being drafted, Fahey starred for the AFL Academy against Geelong’s VFL side in 2021, winning the AFL Commission Chairman’s Medal as the Academy’s best player. After overcoming a shoulder reconstruction in May 2022, Fahey broke through for his debut in round 11, 2023. Fahey went on to play seven games in 2023. He is contracted until the end of the 2024 season after signing a two-year contract in 2022 off the back of his strong VFL form.
