A hard-running midfielder taken with pick 22 in the 2018 AFL Draft, Xavier O’Halloran is an exceptional leader who captained Vic Metro as a teenager. Possessing a combination of speed, endurance, and toughness, O’Halloran has shown an ability to impact both as a midfielder and as a high half forward. Making his debut in round 10, 2020, O’Halloran is sitting just shy of 50 games ahead of the 2024 season. He will remain in GIANTS colours until at least the end of the 2025 season after signing a two-year contract extension in 2023. O'Halloran comes from a strong football pedigree with his late grandfather Ron McCarthy playing 42 games for Footscray, including the Bulldogs’ 1954 premiership.
