One of the competition’s best young ruckmen, Kieren Briggs is a former GIANTS Academy member who became the second Western Sydney product drafted by the club when he was selected with pick 34 in the 2018 AFL Draft. The Pennant Hills product, who also excelled at junior athletics, stands at 200cm tall and loves to make his imposing figure felt across the ground. Working with the likes of Shane Mumford, Dawson Simpson and Matt Flynn, Briggs developed his ruck craft over his first few seasons before a breakout 2023 campaign to announce himself to the competition. Given an opportunity in round 10, Briggs went on to play the final 17 games of the season to play a huge role in helping the GIANTS make a preliminary final. Briggs finished the 2023 season leading all ruckmen across the competition for clearances per game while ranking third in tackles and sixth for possessions. Already contracted for 2024, Briggs extended his contract by two years to tie him to the club until the end of 2026.
