The GIANTS have thanked their members for helping the club reach a significant milestone by passing 30,000 members for the third straight year.

After breaking the 30,000 milestone faster than any other elite sporting club two years ago, the AFL’s youngest club has continued to surpass 30,000 members, officially recording 30,185 members this year.

The milestone is particularly significant considering the limited ability for members to attend GIANTS home games in Sydney and Canberra over the last two seasons as a result of COVID-19.

GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews thanked all GIANTS members, saying they are among the most loyal in the AFL.

“On behalf of everyone at the GIANTS, I want to thank our incredible members. This is a wonderful achievement under normal circumstances but to achieve this milestone with what our communities have endured over the past two seasons makes it even more remarkable,” said Mr Matthews.

“We are incredibly grateful to have such a loyal and committed membership base who love what we stand for on and off the field.

“It’s been bitterly disappointing to not be able to play all of our home games in front of our Sydney and Canberra-based members for the second consecutive year, but the support from our members and fans has been unwavering.

“More broadly, our 10th season has given us an opportunity to reflect on the incredible growth we’ve enjoyed over the past decade with a huge amount to look forward to in the years to come, both on and off-field, for the GIANTS.”

“We want to take this opportunity to recognise those members across New South Wales who are currently enduring a challenging lockdown period.

“We especially offer our support to the significant number of GIANTS members and supporters in those western Sydney LGAs currently doing it particularly tough.

“We are continuing to provide support to these communities via various means and urge everyone to adhere to the advice being provided by the relevant health authorities.”

The GIANTS take on Geelong on Friday night at 7.50pm at GMHBA Stadium with all GIANTS members and fans able to watch the game via the Seven Network, Foxtel or KAYO.
