GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews has congratulated his counterpart at Netball NSW Carolyn Campbell who’s stepping down after almost 15 years in the role.

Campbell joined Netball NSW in 2003 before being promoted to the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2006.

Under her stewardship, Netball NSW has enjoyed unprecedented growth at all levels of the game, developed state of the art facilities at Sydney Olympic Park and overseen elite level success across both the Swifts and GIANTS.

Campbell played a key role in establishing a strategic partnership with the GWS GIANTS which led to the birth of GIANTS Netball in 2016.

GWS GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews has paid tribute to Campbell.

“Carolyn was instrumental in GIANTS Netball becoming a reality and quickly growing into a force on the national stage,” said Mr Matthews.

“The strategic partnership with Netball NSW to create GIANTS Netball was pivotal in the growth of our club and sees us uniquely placed as the only sporting organisation in NSW to have three elite level teams.

“Not only has Carolyn overseen enormous growth in sport, she’s provided a clear pathway for female athletes from the grassroots to the elite level.

“Carolyn will continue to be a friend of the GIANTS for years to come and we wish her the very best in whatever is next for her professionally and personally.”

Campbell will continue in the role until the end of November 2020.
