The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS played our first ever game on our new home at SKODA Stadium on Saturday night and the feedback we have received has been fantastic.

Last night was my first Giants game, (and AFL game in Sydney as I'd been living in Melbourne). I was hugely impressed by the Giants, Sheedy has moulded the young squad into a really tight, organised and disciplined outfit. With time will come composure in front of goal and the fitness (and physical bulk) to compete with the seasoned pros. I predict big things for GWS!
Also, SS is a fantastic boutique stadium, great facilities and views all-round.

I'm an ex Bombers fan and I attended my first Giants game last night as a new member. If it wasn't for the accuracy in the first half we would have had Essendon against the ropes. The commitment to the ball was impressive and you really made the Bombers work for their win. Not bad considering the Bombers have only lost one game by one point for the whole season.
I really like Hird's comments after the game. This says it all.
"We'd planned for them being good, but even planning for it, they were better than we thought they were around the contest. I wouldn't like to play them here in two years time."

Okay, we didn't win. But despite the result, I'm reasonably encouraged by the display tonight.
There's some work to be done. Had they kicked straighter in the first half, they may have been able to exert some real scoreboard pressure, and who knows what would have happened. There's little things here and there that the coaching staff will work on.
But we have the foundations of a good side. The effort and intensity are there. There was some good work done tonight, and the development of these players is outstanding. Tim Mohr in defence is becoming a rock of Gibraltar. Jeremy Cameron on the forward line looks great.
We live, we learn. It's the only way we grow.
Keep your heads high Giants fans. Think big, live big and play big. Our club is forming character and passion. Through adversity, we reach the stars.
