Nine GIANTS have locked in their new jumper numbers for the 2020 NAB AFL Women’s season.

With seven new players joining the club through the trade window and 2019 NAB AFLW Draft, and Britt Tully and Rebecca Privitelli returning, they all need new numbers.

All re-contracted players have maintained their 2019 jumper numbers with the exception of Amanda Farrugia with her number 18 jumper to remain vacant following her retirement last month.

1 – Emily Goodsir
Goodsir will become just the second GIANT to wear the number one guernsey following Renee Tomkins, who played 12 games wearing number one across three seasons.

4 – Maggie Gorham
Number four stays with a forward in 2020, with Canberra’s Maggie Gorham taking the number vacated by 2019 leading goalkicker Christina Bernardi (seven games). The jumper was also worn by Alex Saundry for two seasons during which she played four games.

14 – Annalyse Lister
Just the second player to be the custodian of the number 14 jumper, Lister – a hard running left footer drafted from VFLW side Darebin – takes the number from Maddy Collier who donned the number in 15 games across three seasons.

17 – Georgia Garnett
Like Goodsir and Lister, Garnett is just the second player to be assigned the number 17 guernsey. Inaugural GIANT Emma Swanson played 13 games wearing the number across three seasons at the club.

19 – Rebecca Privitelli
Privitelli not only returns to the GIANTS in 2020 but takes back the number 19 jumper. Privitelli played one game wearing the number in 2018 before Britt Perry played four games in the jumper in 2019. Before Privitelli and Perry, Ashleigh Guest played seven games in the number 19.

20 – Lisa Steane
The number 20 hasn’t been worn by a GIANT since Alex Williams pulled it on for seven games in 2017, but it now belongs to Macquarie University product Lisa Steane.

30 – Sarah Halvorsen
Previously worn by Delma Gisu (One game in 2019) Halvorsen can make her mark in the number 30. Tall and able to play at both ends of the ground as a key position player, Halvorsen will be one to watch in 2020.

36 – Britt Tully
The number 36 has never been worn in a GIANTS AFLW game. Tully previous played 14 games in the number 16 which will continue to be worn by Taylah Davies. A determined and skilful inside midfielder from Canberra, Tully can truly make the number her own in 2020.

39 – Jess Allan
Another new number in 2020, the number 39 jumper will be the second highest number worn by a GIANT (behind 41 worn by Clare Lawton for seven games during the inaugural 2017 season) should Allan make her GIANTS debut in 2020.
