Harvey Norman Chief Executive and passionate support of women in sport Katie Page has made a special visit to the WestConnex Centre to spend an evening with the GIANTS AFL Women’s team.

Page and Supercars pioneer and Team Harvey Norman driver Simona de Silvestro shared stories from their journeys and held a Q&A session with the AFLW team.

Page has been a strong supporter of women in sport, and made history when she became the first female board member of the National Rugby League in 2004.

Harvey Norman, led by Page, has been a strong supporter women’s AFL in Western Sydney since 2015 and are the inaugural major partner of the GIANTS AFLW team.

“What you’ve been doing has started a revolution in this country,” Page told the GIANTS players.

“We started Team Harvey last year with all the different sports that were involved with women, and then we decided that it was time to do Team Harvey Junior.

“These are the young girls coming through aged between eight and 14 or 15 that are the future of sport.”

In 2017, Harvey Norman launched the Team Harvey project – highlighting the achievements of Australian Sportswomen, including the likes of GIANTS AFLW captain Amanda Farrugia.

The Australian-based multinational retailer has also launched Team Harvey Junior, a project that provides sponsorship to junior female sporting teams to help build a bright future for young female athletes in Australia.
