GIANTS Finals Diary Day 9

It was a big day at the WestConnex Centre on Tuesday, with a co-major partner signing an extension, open training and news a dashing defender looks set to make his long-awaited return this weekend!

Toyo Tires will remain a co-major partner of the GIANTS until at least the end of 2022 after signing a four-year contract extension.

To mark the occasion, Josh Kelly and coach Leon Cameron had a no-stakes go at the Toyo Tires Kick for Cash, proving it is every bit as difficult as it looks – even for the pros! (Props to Dave Matthews – he got pretty close!)

Ahead of his 100th AFL match in the Elimination Final on Saturday, Kelly joined Cameron for this week’s press conference. The coach took the opportunity to declare Zac Williams was all but a certain starter for the final, which will be his first AFL game in 12 months following a ruptured Achilles tendon.

A good day on the track was made more enjoyable with a contingent of GIANTS supporters turning out to support the team at our open training session.

The energy is certainly buzzing around the club as momentum continues to build toward the must-win all-Sydney final at the SCG this weekend.

The GIANTS have been buoyed by the confirmation that a further six players – including Toby Greene – are now off the injury list and available for selection this week.

It follows on from a strong training hit-out on Saturday morning during the pre-finals bye, when all six players and Williams showed they’re ready if they get the call-up to take on the Swans.

It was Father’s Day on Sunday (fittingly coinciding with coach Leon Cameron’s birthday), and the GIANTS players took the opportunity to wheel out their best ‘dad jokes’ for the occasion.

#FathersDay + GIANTS = Dad Jokes. ‍♂️
