The MCG is located on Brunton Avenue, Richmond, and is surrounded by Yarra Park. It is a short walk from Federation Square and Melbourne’s CBD.


The GIANTS continue their finals journey with a must-win preliminary final against Collingwood at the MCG.

Participating club members pre-sale is from 9am-1pm on Tuesday, September 17, before access is open to the general public from 2pm on Tuesday, September 17.

Grand Final Ballot

2019 GIANTS members must register for the 2019 Grand Final Ballot on Thurday, September 19, during their allocated time slot.

This will be the only chance for GIANTS members to access Grand Final tickets should the GIANTS compete.

Pre-Match Function

GIANTS fans (and those who are jumping on the GIANTS bandwagon for the prelim) are invited to our Preliminary Final Pre-Match Function at The Imperial Hotel in Melbourne in the lead-in to Saturday’s game.

The function will run from 1.30-3pm, before the Orange Army assembles for a march to the MCG.

Fans can stock up on their orange on the day, with merchandise on sale at the venue.

Open Training

The GIANTS will hold an open training session in Melbourne at Punt Road Oval on Friday, September 20 from 2:00pm.

The MCG is an eight-and-a-half-hour drive from GIANTS Stadium.

By Train
You can catch a train from Sydney’s Central Station to Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station with the journey to take around 11 hours. Bookings are essential – click here or call NSW TrainLink on 13 22 32.

Public Transport

Once in Melbourne there are a number of public transport options to get you to the MCG. To plan your trip on game day click here.

The nearest train stations Jolimont Station and Richmond Station, while trams stop along Punt Road, Brunton Avenue and Wellington Parade.


The GIANTS team will be named on and the Official GIANTS App at 6:20pm on Thursday evening. The final team will be confirmed 90 minutes before the bounce.
