The Skåne GIANTS have become the latest international team to form an allegiance with the AFL’s newest club.
Hailing from the Skåne region in Sweden, the club competes in the AFL Sweden Regional Series and was formally known as the Skåne Griffins.
It follows similar partnerships with the Concord Junior Football Club in Western Sydney, the Kew Junior Football Club in Melbourne, the Griffith GIANTS in NSW, the North Leinster GIANTS in Ireland, the South London GIANTS and the Zagreb GIANTS which all wear the GIANTS colours.
Greater Western Sydney GIANTS CEO David Matthews said that the introduction of more GIANTS affiliated clubs was a positive move in the club’s region and internationally.
"The GIANTS want to form alliances with as many clubs as possible across Sydney but also right across Australia and the world. We see it as a way of not only promoting the GIANTS but also the game and genuinely engaging with grassroots fans," Matthews said.
