GIANTS forward Brodee Mowbray will be a test to travel to Geelong for Saturday’s clash with the Cats in round nine of the 2026 NAB AFLW Season.
Mowbray suffered a quad injury in training last month, which has seen her miss the last three matches, but has progressed strongly through her rehabilitation and is a chance to return to the side this week.
Sara Howley will miss the trip home to Geelong after scans revealed two fractures in her left hand.
The GIANTS medical team assessed Howley at the three-quarter break of Saturday’s match against Essendon, following an in-contest incident late in the third term. She took no further part in the match.
Howley will manage the injury without surgery but will be unavailable for at least the next four matches.
Ruck Fleur Davies will also be unavailable for selection, after injuring her elbow in AFLW scrimmage on Saturday.
Davies will undertake scans this evening to assess the extent of the injury and expected rehabilitation timeline.
The GIANTS head to Victoria for a match-up with the Cats at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday, October 10.
