Up and coming GIANT Tom Green has been named the round nine NEAFL Rising Star nominee after a dominant midfield display in the GIANTS’ win over Gold Coast on Saturday.

The 18-year-old Canberran collected 28 disposals and kicked a goal as the GIANTS recorded a 43-point win.

A GIANTS Academy member, Green is the second GIANT to be nominated for the NEAFL Rising Star with Western Sydney local James Peatling earning a nomination in round seven.

The inside midfielder has played two NEAFL games for the GIANTS in 2019 after played three games for the GIANTS in 2018.

Green – whose grandfather Michael played in four VFL premierships for Richmond and was named in their team of the century – was a standout for the GIANTS Academy in their recent NAB League campaign, averaging 33 disposals across four games.

His performances have seen the NAB AFL Academy Member selected in the Allies squad for the upcoming NAB Under-18 National Championships.
