The GIANTS farewell midfielder Claire Ransom who has decided to retire from AFLW. 

Originally drafted out of her home state of Tasmania by the Gold Coast in the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft, Ransom played two games for the Suns before joining the GIANTS ahead of the 2024 season. 

Ransom featured in 11 games for the GIANTS across two seasons to take her AFLW career tally to 13 games. 

GIANTS Executive General Manager of AFLW, Alison Zell, thanked Ransom for her time in orange and charcoal.  

“We thank Claire for her contribution over the last two seasons and congratulate her on her AFLW career,” Zell said.  

Following Ransom’s retirement, the GIANTS will now take two selections into next week’s inaugural AFLW Pre-Season Draft on Monday, May 4.
