Jack Buckley will miss this Friday’s blockbuster against the Pies at Marvel Stadium, with the key defender currently in concussion protocols. 

Buckley was involved in a collision in a marking contest in the final seconds of Saturday’s loss to the Saints, which resulted in a failed HIA assessment. 

The 28-year-old is currently in day two of the 12-day protocol and will continue to be monitored and assessed by the club’s medical staff. 

Logan Smith missed last week’s VFL season opener due to some joint discomfort (knee) and is to 2-3 weeks off being available for match play. 

Meanwhile, Toby Bedford, Aaron Cadman and Brent Daniels will all be a test for Friday’s match, with a decision set to be made on each on Thursday.

The GIANTS will name their team on Thursday evening, before taking on the Pies at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.
