Harry Himmelberg will be a test for this Saturday’s fixture against the Saints.

The tall defender was involved in a collision in the third quarter of Saturday’s loss to the Bulldogs which resulted in a split chin and stitches mid-game.

A follow up consultant with a plastics specialist on Monday saw the 29-year-old receive further treatment to repair the damage. 

The club will assess the healing of the wound and advice from the surgeon to determine Himmelberg's availability for this Saturday.

Utility Toby Bedford and small forward Brent Daniels will advance to modified training this week, while Aaron Cadman will begin the re-loading phase of his recovery.

Draftee Finn Davis’ first game for the club will be delayed, with the youngster not available for VFL this weekend as he continues to recover from a groin injury. 

The GIANTS return to ENGIE Stadium this Saturday to host the Saints at 4:15pm, while the VFL will open their 2026 campaign at Tom Wills Oval on Saturday morning.
