The return of star skipper Toby Greene headlines two changes to the GIANTS’ side to take on the Kangaroos in Canberra on Sunday.

Greene will return from a one-match suspension looking to lead the GIANTS to a critical win over North Melbourne as the club continues its surge towards September.

The star captain is joined in Sunday’s team by emerging young forward Max Gruzewski who enters the side in place of Coleman Medallist Jesse Hogan who is being managed after pulling up sore from the clash with the Dogs last week.

Named for the ninth AFL game of his young career, Gruzewski will be looking to carry over his VFL form into AFL level on Sunday following a stellar VFL campaign to date which has seen the 21-year-old key forward kick 43 goals in 15 games to sit fifth on the VFL goalkicking tally.

As announced on Thursday night, missing from last week’s GIANTS side alongside Hogan is emerging midfielder Toby McMullin who will unfortunately miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery for a syndesmosis injury suffered last week against the Bulldogs.

With their inspirational skipper back in the lineup, the GIANTS will be looking to bounce back to their brilliant best on Sunday and recapture the form which saw them win six straight games prior to last week’s loss to the Dogs.

Currently sitting in eighth spot on an incredibly congested ladder with just three rounds remaining, Sunday’s clash against the Kangaroos is close to a must-win for Adam Kingsley’s side if they want to feature in their eighth finals campaign in the past 10 years.

The GIANTS and the Kangaroos will do battle from 1:40pm on Sunday at Corroboree Group Oval, Manuka.
