The GIANTS have recalled exciting tall defender Leek Aleer and tough midfielder Harry Rowston for Saturday’s big clash with the Blues at Marvel Stadium.

One of the game’s most athletic players, Aleer returns for his first game at AFL level for the season after starring for the club’s top of the ladder VFL side across their first seven games.

Saturday’s clash will be the 23-year-old’s first AFL game since round 17 last year in which the side also took on the Blues.

Meanwhile, Rowston has also been rewarded for his continuous run of strong VFL form, with the 20-year-old set to play his first AFL game since round 13, 2023.

Rowston is averaging 26 touches and five tackles per game in the VFL this season.

The young duo – who have been instrumental in the GIANTS’ VFL side sitting at 6-1 atop the VFL ladder – enter Adam Kingsley’s side in place of injured pair Finn Callaghan (shoulder) and Toby McMullin (adductor).

With inspirational skipper Toby Greene to play in his 250th AFL game on Saturday against the Blues, the GIANTS will be hoping they can celebrate the milestone in winning fashion when the two sides meet under the roof of Marvel Stadium at 12:35pm.
