With a blockbuster 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership season fast approaching we’ve put together all the key dates and information as the GIANTS prepare to back up a brilliant 2023 with an even better 2024.

Pre-season Match Simulation v Swans

As part of their pre-season preparations, all AFL clubs can participate in an optional match simulation prior to the AFL Community Series.

As part of this, the GIANTS will take on the Swans a week prior to their Community Series match with the Suns, taking on their crosstown rival on Thursday, February 22 at Tramway Oval at 10am AEDT.

The matchup with the Swans will be open to the public and free of charge. 

2024 AFL Community Series match v Suns in Canberra

The GIANTS will prepare for an exciting 2024 season as they turn up the heat on the final day of summer against Damien Hardwick and his new-look Suns in Canberra on Thursday, February 29 at 7:10pm AEDT.

The exciting match with the Suns is part of the 2024 AFL Community Series which will feature all 18 clubs taking part in official practice matches between February 27 and March 3 at venues across the country.

All club and AFL members, as well as all kids under 15, can attend the Community Series matches for free.

Meanwhile, tickets for the General Public will go on sale in February, with dates yet to be announced.

2024 AFL Community Camp

The 2024 AFL Community Camps, which sees clubs visit regional communities around the country, will coincide with the clash against the Suns, with the GIANTS to host clinics at clubs and schools across the Canberra region from Wednesday, February 28 to Friday, March 1.

Opening Round v Collingwood at GIANTS Stadium

The Orange Tsunami will get first crack at the reigning premiers as we host the ‘Pies in a mouth-watering rematch of last season’s heartbreaking one-point preliminary final loss at the MCG.

The unique fixture will see the GIANTS open their 2024 campaign in a blockbuster under lights against Collingwood at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday, March 9 at 7.30pm.

A special initiative introduced for the 2024 AFL season, the Opening Round fixture will see the four northern clubs open the season with standalone games across NSW and Queensland.
