The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS are proud to support White Ribbon Day.

November 25 is White Ribbon Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

White Ribbon Day also signals the start of the 16 Days of Activism to Stop Violence against Women, which ends on Human Rights Day (10 December).

White Ribbon is Australia’s only national, male-led primary prevention campaign to end violence against women. One in three Australian women over the age of 15 have reported experiencing physical or sexual violence at some time in their lives.

Co-captain and White Ribbon Ambassador Callan Ward said the GIANTS are proud to support White Ribbon and the work they do to eliminate violence against women.

“As a brother and son I am pleased the GIANTS can do our bit to support this very important cause,” Ward said.

“We want to encourage other Australian men to join us in telling the community that any sort of violence against women is simply unacceptable."

The GIANTS are a proud supporter of White Ribbon and the Sydney Derbies against the Swans are played for the White Ribbon Cup.

The White Ribbon Cup was launched at the inaugural Sydney Derby in Round 1, 2012.

The next White Ribbon Cup will be played in Round 1 at GIANTS Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park between the GIANTS and the Swans on March 15, 2014.
