GIANTS veteran defender Chad Cornes has been treated for an infection after he recently underwent knee surgery.
GIANTS General Manager Graeme Allan said it was setback for Cornes who had already been ruled out till the end of April because of knee surgery. He is expected to be released from hospital tomorrow.
"At this stage it is too early to say what impact this will have on Chad's rehab after recent surgery but we will continue to monitor his condition," Allan said.
"We certainly remain very hopeful he can return to the side during the season and continue to offer his terrific experience to our young playing list."
