The 2015 AFL season produced a number of records for the GIANTS along with some weird and wacky stats which helped shaped the club’s year.

With the season now over, we reflect upon some of the more bizarre events that took place and highlight the players who made them possible.

Never before have the GIANTS been so damaging in attack, kicking 268 goals with 29 of them from beyond the 50m arc.

The club registered their two highest final scores - 6.23 (119) v Gold Coast in Round 4 before eclipsing that against Carlton in Round 7 with 19.21 (135).

The GIANTS also notched up their largest winning margin of 66-points against Gold Coast in Round 4 before beating that twice more against Carlton in Round 7 (78-points) and again in Round 22 (81-points).

It didn’t, however, always go to plan with the GIANTS hitting the post 29 times - 14 times on the left post and 15 times on the right.

The GIANTS scored the first goal of the match on 10 occasions, but remarkably weren’t able to do so until Round 7.

A run and carry game style saw the GIANTS take a massive 355 running bounces which was 134 more than any other team in the league.

It was also a season of individual success with Ryan Griffen leading the competition in candy selling (10 baulks).

Defender Heath Shaw kicked to himself from full-back 65 times this year which was 20 times more than anyone else.

Meanwhile up the other end of the ground key forward Jeremy Cameron took 69 marks on the lead which ranks him first in the AFL.

Despite adding experienced senior players to the list in recent years the GIANTS still boast the youngest average team.

The average age of the GIANTS prior to the start of the season was 22 years and 157 days old.
