The GIANTS are proud to launch their Pride Jumper for season seven.

It will be the club’s second Pride jumper, as the AFLW and the GIANTS celebrate the competition-wide Pride Round for a third season in a row.

This year’s design is an evolution on last season’s design, combing the colours of the Pride Progress Flag within the GIANTS’ iconic ‘G’.

The league-wide celebrations will run from October 14-16 during round eight and will celebrate the inclusiveness of football.

This season, the round will also acknowledge the role of allies in supporting inclusivity, visibility, and awareness of LGBTQI+ people within the sport and creating a safe environment where everyone feels welcomed and celebrated.

And for the first time, all participating clubs will be wearing Pride Round jumpers.

Defender Katherine Smith said Pride Round is extremely important to her.

“It is a fantastic celebration of our rainbow community and love,” she said.

“I think it is important to show representation of love and inclusivity, and sport is a great avenue to promote that.

“Pride Round is a fantastic opportunity to show how far we’ve come as a community and continue to strive for respect and equality.”

Tarni Evans echoed similar comments to Smith while also addressing the importance of allies in the LGBTQi+ community.

“Pride Round is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate my teammates that are part of the LGBTQi+ community and more importantly, celebrating inclusivity and belonging for everyone around me,” she said.

The GIANTS will also have a Pride warm-up tee, with the tee available for purchase as part of the GIANTS’ Pride range.

The Pride range is available via the GIANTS’ website or at the merchandise tent this Sunday.

The GIANTS will host Hawthorn this Sunday at Henson Park to celebrate Pride Round.
