GIANTS forward Rebecca Privitelli has informed the club that she will take up an offer from the Swans and will play for the expansion club in season seven of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition.

After four seasons with the GIANTS, the 27-year-old has made the tough decision to part ways with the club.

Originally from Victoria, Privitelli played for Carlton in the inaugural AFLW season before moving to the GIANTS for season 2018.

Privitelli played two seasons with the GIANTS before taking a year off from the sport to reassess her life and work out where she wanted to go.

She returned for season 2020 and won the league’s mark of the year – her strong hands one of her best traits.

Privitelli played a total of 25 games for the GIANTS, kicking 14 goals.

Privitelli thanked the club after making the tough decision to leave.

“The GIANTS have been such a big part of my life over the last five years,” she said.

“I will forever be grateful for the belief the club had in me and the opportunities they have given me to play the game I love.

“There are so many incredible people that make this club so special; the fans, staff, coaches, my teammates and everyone who has been involved in my journey

“The GIANTS are a club like no other and I will forever hold a special place in my heart for my GIANTS family.”

GIANTS Head of Women’s Football Briana Harvey wished Privitelli all the best.

“We’re disappointed to see Priv leave but respect her decision and commend her professional and mature approach in handling the decision,” said Harvey.

“We’re pleased that Priv re-found her love for the game of footy again in Sydney and hope she continues that enjoyment for the game at her new club.”
