GIANTS Members

For the 23rd instalment of the Sydney Derby, we are kicking off AFL in NSW with a big big season opener!

As this fixture is a bit different to previous Sydney Derbies, we require all GIANTS members to book their membership seat via the Ticketek event page.

Seating will be assigned based on your membership tier and members will have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets for their guest at the time of booking their member seats. To book your member ticket you will need your membership barcode which can be found in the my barcodes section of the app or GIANTS account manager portal.

Member Allocation

Members seating will be allocated into the following seating categories;

     Category 1 - Ultimate GIANTS and Sydney Gold GIANTS
     Category 2 - Sydney Silver GIANTS
     Category 3 - 4 Game Sydney Derby
     Category 4 - All remaining General Admission Members

Redemption Process

  1. Head to the Ticketek website and in the search bar type in GIANTS v Swans.
  2. Select the event Sydney Derby XXIII event.
  3. In the box provided, please enter all your member barcodes you wish to book for and then select 'Unlock Tickets'
  4. Note: If you are booking for multiple groups of members, please ensure you list each barcode on a new line in the box provided. By entering all barcodes before hitting unlock tickets, this will ensure all your seats are allocated together.

Getting There and Access

Express trains will run between Central and Olympic Park to get you to and from the game. Regular trains also run frequently between Lidcombe and Olympic Park. From Olympic Park station, the stadium is a short 10 minute walk away. Travel on trains to and from Olympic Park is included in your ticket to the match.

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

When catching public transport, plan ahead, allow extra time and sit or stand on the green dots. You can also check real-time capacity indicators when planning your trip or boarding services.

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe, the venue is a short walk from the station.

Remember it’s mandatory to wear a face mask when travelling on public transport, and you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling to and from the event. Register your details via the Opal website or app ahead of time.

If you’re driving, travel with your group and consider pre-booking your parking online available until 11:59pm the night before the event. Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct so allow extra travel time. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Lifeline Cup

The GIANTS and Swans will play for the Lifeline Cup. Lifeline is there for all Australians through every challenge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via phone, text and webchat. Their trained Crisis Supporters are there to listen without judgement to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.

Members and fans have the chance to get their photo taken with a replica of the Lifeline Cup at the Eastern Gate entrance while, with the support of Rebel, Lifeline Cup replica water bottles will be available at merchandise outlets at the game.

Lifeline volunteers will be handing out replica cardboard cut-outs at all entrances for fans to hold up during the match with opportunities to donate through QR codes located on signs and digital signage at the stadium and through the website at www.lifeline.org.au/lifelinecup.

Game Day Activities

In 2022 we launch the new Toyo Tires three-quarter-time activation!

As well as supporting the GIANTS, Toyo has helped footy at the grass roots; helping to develop the next generation of GIANT champions as part of their ‘In Support of Sport’ program.

Toyo are giving local footy clubs the chance to compete in the new Make Your Move Challenge! Two teams will race a GIANT Toyo tyre, across the ground with the first to cross the line winning their club a $2,000 donation!

Hoodoo Gurus

ARIA Hall of Famers the Hoodoo Gurus, known for their string of pop-rock hits including Leilani, Tojo, My Girl, I Want You Back, Bittersweet, Like Wow - Wipeout and What’s My Scene, will play at half-time of Sydney Derby XXIII.

Fan Zone 

  • The GIANTS Fan Zone is back in action throughout the GIANTS AFL season and will be filled with loads of fun and FREE activities for all ages.
  • Giveaways: Make sure you grab your hand clappers and rally towels to kick-start your GIANTS game day experience in style!
  • GIANTS supporters sitting in Bay 142-1 will receive an orange GIANTS wig (all you have to do is show your ticket to staff and you'll receive a wig)
  • GIANTS Big Kick and Netball Inflatables; test your kicking and netball skills at our GIANTS inflatables.
  • Grab a photo at the Lifeline Cup Photo Booth with the replica Lifeline Cup and make sure you tag the GIANTS!
  • We're giving away keyrings, stubby coolers, playing deck cards and mini stress balls as well as double passes to the GIANTS' next home game at the St George Apple Pay Booth!
  • Grab a photo at the PCYC NSW Instagram photo frame and tag the GIANTS to feature on our story! 
  • Make sure you visit our Nova station with GIANT games including GIANTS Jenga and Connect 4
  • Get a drawing from the caricature artists
  • Look out for the stilt walkers
  • Drop by the Harvey Norman activation where you can take a selfie with the GIANTS mural and spin the Harvey Norman spin wheel. While you’re there don’t forget to pick up your bang bang stick.
  • Face painting and airbrush tattoos will all be available for free in the GIANTS Fan Zone so make sure you deck yourself out in as much orange as possible to support your GIANTS.

Light Market

Following Sydney Derby XXIII make sure to visit the Light Market, a series of free events showcasing live music alongside delicious food, drinks and desserts from some of Sydney's best food trucks.

Light Market kicks off  in the beautiful Fig Grove, next door to Accor Stadium and around the corner from Qudos Bank Arena. Curated by Andrew Levins, the first night will feature five hours of family friendly entertainment, including a special kids rave where children can dedicate songs to their parents (or vice versa).

Most Valuable GIANT

Vote for your Most Valuable GIANT! After our game on Saturday, GIANTS fans will be able to vote for their most valuable player in a 3, 2, 1 voting style. Vote exclusively on the GIANTS app - Click here to download it now. This year the overall winner of the Most Valuable GIANT - as chosen by you - will be awarded the trophy at the Kevin Sheedy Medal.

Team Selection

The GIANTS will name their final team on Thursday at 6:20pm at giants.afl.

Broadcast

Saturday’s match will be shown live on Fox Footy and Kayo nationally and on 7mate in NSW and the ACT from 5pm.

The AFL, GIANTS, Sydney Swans and Accor Stadium have worked together to best ensure the health and safety of all players, officials and fans is paramount when attending the footy this weekend. GIANTS’ fans and members attending Saturday’s match are reminded that entering the field of play at any time is strictly prohibited and fines from the venue will apply for fans who choose to run on the ground. The fine at Accor Stadium is $5,500.
