Last Time They Met: The two sides last met in round five of season 2020, the Tigers’ first year in the AFLW competition. Albeit hometown hero, Alyce Parker, was at her best with 24 possessions and four tackles to help her side record a 45-point win at Robertson Oval in Wagga Wagga. Staunton was strong for the GIANTS, kicking four goals and Rebecca Privitelli was an outstanding ally with two-goals and five marks.

Tv & Online: The match will be broadcast live from 5:00pm (AEDT) on 7Two in NSW and ACT, as well as Foxtel, Kayo and the Official AFLW App.

What it means for the GIANTS: The GIANTS enter round nine coming off a tough-loss to the Blues on Sunday evening. The GIANTS currently sit in 10th place with three wins and five losses and will be looking to redeem themselves to close out the 2022 season positively.

Where’s the Opposition at: The Tigers are in a similar position to the GIANTS, with finals out of reach. They come off a 23-point loss to Geelong at Punt Road, with the Cats the only team separating the Tigers and GIANTS on the ladder.

The Number: 714 – The number of days since the GIANTS last played a game at GIANTS Stadium. The last time the team ran out at the stadium named after them was in the 2020 semi-finals. The finals match back on March 21 was the first time the AFLW side had ever played at the venue in Sydney Olympic Park, however, no spectators were allowed due to the newly-enforced restrictions surrounding COVID-19.

In the Mix: Two names in the mix that will excite GIANTS fans are Tarni Evans and Chloe Dalton. Both are returning from injury, Evans a foot injury sustained during pre-season and Dalton a calf injury sustained in round six. Both will be available for selection this week subject to medical clearance.
