The GIANTS have named their team for their opening round clash of the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Competition.

Headlining team selection for round one are the stories of the club’s five debutants – two club debuts and three AFLW debuts.

Former Blues, Chloe Dalton and Katie Loynes, will pull on the orange and charcoal for the first time, with Dalton returning to the game following her bid at a second Olympic Gold and Loynes proving she’s got more to give at her new club.

The club’s first draft pick of 2021 - Ally Morphett - and the last player added to the list - Ally Dallaway - will play their first career matches, while Irishwoman Bríd Stack makes her long awaited AFLW debut following an injury-ended season last year.

Nicola Barr has been declared fully fit and earned selection for round one following a shoulder injury sustained in the early weeks of the pre-season.

Tarni Evans was the only player on the active list ruled out of selection as she makes her way back to full fitness from a pre-season foot injury.

The GIANTS open their campaign on the road against the Gold Coast Suns at Mackay’s Great Barrier Reef Arena.

The match will close out the round one action with the action getting underway at 6:10pm (AEDT) on Sunday night.

GIANTS fans can watch the match live on 7Two in NSW and ACT, or on Foxtel, Kayo or the Telstra TV, AFL Women’s or AFL Official Apps.
