Following the first three rounds on the road, the Big Big Sound will be city bound with Henson Park in Marrickville set to host back-to-back weekends of action with the GIANTS taking on Western Bulldogs and St Kilda respectively.

Henson Park is located in the city’s inner west, home to the Newtown Jets and the AFL Sydney competition. It’s the first time AFLW will be played at the venue.

The GIANTS will return to their home at Blacktown International SportsPark in round seven as they battle it out in a clash against the Adelaide Crows.

The nation’s capital will turn orange in February, with the GIANTS set to face off against Chloe Dalton and Katie Loynes’ former side, Carlton, in Friday night footy in round eight.

The GIANTS will then return to Blacktown for round nine to take on Richmond, with the Round 10 fixture to be released in the coming days.

Interstate supporters will be able to show their colours and see the action live and up-close with the team scheduled to play in Mackay, Perth and Melbourne.

GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said the 2022 fixture has something for all footy fans.“As the number one team for NSW and ACT, the fixture provides a mix of opportunities for footy fans to get behind the GIANTS.

“We’re thrilled to expand our home base in Sydney with two of our home games to be played at Henson Park in Marrickville. The inner-city location encourages city-based fans to come along and elite women’s footy in summer.

“Friday night footy in Canberra is a great way to showcase the game in prime time and we’re excited to continue with two games in Blacktown, which our Western Sydney fans always embrace with such heart.

“After a disrupted 2021 season for the women’s program and a delayed start to the 2022 season, I’m sure everyone is ready to get behind NSW and the ACT’s AFLW team.”

The 2022 season will consist of 14 teams, 10 rounds and one ladder, with the top six teams playing off in finals.

Round one of the competition will kick off on Friday, January 7, with the GIANTS set to begin their campaign on Sunday, January 9.
