Scoring:
Goal = If you kick the ball between the middle two posts untouched by an opposition player and without it hitting either post, you will be rewarded with 6 points.
Behind = If you kick the ball between the outer posts or kick the ball into either of the two big posts, you will get 1 point. If the ball travels through any of your team’s goal posts without being kicked, you will get 1 point.
No score = If the ball hits one of the two outer posts or misses the goals completely, no score will be rewarded.
Note that the entire football must cross the entire goal line for a score to count (unless it hits one of the middle two posts, then 1 point is automatically registered).
GIANTS History
1. The GIANTS entered the AFL competition in 2012 and the AFLW competition in its first year in 2017.
2. We have two AFL players (Stephen Coniglio #3 and Toby Greene #4) and one AFLW player (Rebecca Beeson #6) that have played every season we have competed in.
3. Callan Ward kicked the GIANTS’ first ever goal in the AFL competition.
4. Phoebe McWilliams kicked the GIANTS’ first ever goal in the AFLW competition
5. In 2026, the GIANTS are celebrating their 15th season in the AFL competition.
6. The GIANTS AFL team have made nine final series in 14 seasons, including one grand final appearance in 2019.
7. The GIANTS training facility and offices are in Sydney Olympic Park, a short walk from our Sydney home, ENGIE Stadium.
