Selected with pick 17 in the 2023 AFL Draft, Leake is an exceptionally versatile player capable of contributing across all three lines. Hailing from Tasmania, Leake won a senior premiership in the Tasmanian State League as a 16-year-old in 2022 before shining for the Tassie Devils in the Coates Talent League the following year. A standout junior in 2023, Leake was named an under 18 All-Australian following the Allies’ National Championship victory after a starring season playing as both a defender and a forward. While Leake was unable to break through for his AFL debut in his maiden season at the club largely due to an injury-interrupted start to his career, he was able to put together a dominant run of VFL form in the back half of the year playing as both a medium defender and an inside midfielder. After a big summer, Leake then managed to breakthrough for his AFL debut in the Opening Round of the 2025 season, finishing the year with three AFL games to his name while also starring for the club’s VFL side.
