The GIANTS listed local forward Jack Buckley as a Category B rookie ahead of the 2018 AFL season. Buckley is a key forward who showed continued development across his first few seasons on the club’s list. He hails from the UNSW-ES Bulldogs in the AFL Sydney competition and is a strong contested mark and has good athleticism for his size. He is currently finishing the Bachelor in Commerce he started at Sydney University before turning his hand to a football career. After another strong season of development, he made his AFL debut in the penultimate round of 2020. After a breakout season in 2021, Buckley added another year to his contract to take him through to the end of 2023 before tearing his ACL late in the season. After 623 days on the sidelines, Buckley returned to senior football in Round 1 of 2023.
