There was no shortage of talking points as Tom Green joined Daniel Harford and Adam White on RSN Breakfast Club following the GIANTS’ first pre-season training session ahead of the 2023 AFL campaign.

We’re all excited as a club to sink our teeth into next season and see what that holds for us,” Green said.

“We’re going to play a different brand of footy and that’s something that’s really, really exciting.”

Green said he will relish the opportunity to take more responsibility in the GIANTS’ midfield next season following the departures of Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto.

“I think it’s an opportunity to take more responsibility and that’s something that really excites me,” he said.

Green said he had already caught up with new coach Adam Kingsley about the rising star’s continued development in 2023.

“There will be some more specific roles through the midfield, but as specifically for me we haven’t gone into great detail yet,” he said.

“Adam’s alluded to a few things, and we’ve spoken briefly about it what it’ll look like next year.

“I’m looking forward to working with Adam and Ben Hart to look at those specific roles and what that looks like for our midfield and how we get that balance right to make us a really potent midfield.”

The midfielder also echoed the comments of Kingsley in drawing inspiration from Collingwood’s remarkable 2022 season.

“Collingwood are a great example of if you get things right and the whole group buys in, you can have a really good season,” Green said.

“Every club that didn’t make the eight last season will be looking at what Collingwood did, and we certainly are as well.”
